Month Remaining

Only a month to go, cant believe how fast this year has gone, the FYP is taking up so much time its becoming difficult to keep on top of other modules.

Unity Progress

Have been working in Unity and the gallery is beginning to take shape I'll post some images soon.

Deployment

I have successfully deployed my flash files to the server and the website is now the MM server, I still have allot of work to do on the website though, before its completely finished. I'm really not happy with the "Home" page.

Access to Unity Pro

At last I have gained access to Unity Pro, I can now add features such as realistic water and shadows to enhance the look of the 3D Gallery.

Wasted Weekend!!!

Yet another weekend wasted in the lab, having been assured access with administrative rights. I find out that once again I have not got administrative access and Unity Pro is still unavailable to me. Yet I'm still expected to produce first class work. Ridiculous!! I just worked on other assignments.

Cant Access Software or Hardware

Spent Saturday in the lab, Each system I used had issues, either I couldn't access unity or I was unable to install the tablet as I needed administrator rights. Can't understand why its so difficult to access unity in the lab?

The FYP has had to take a backseat this week, as Iv had to catch up on other modules. Programming has been especially time consuming with an assignment worth 30% due soon.

Marks So Far

So far 25% of my FYP has been completed, which is double weighted so is of massive importance in the outcome of my degree.

Proposal:    3.6% / 5%

Research:   7.6% / 10%

Presentation:   8% / 10% 

I currently have 19 out of a possible 25% so I'm quite happy, however the next stages of the project are going to be quite difficult and time consuming, including a prototype of the project, which is due next week.

It will be extremely difficult to achieve over 70 in this project overall and I'm already losing sleep over it!!!

Stressed

I had been working on the website most of the weekend, I decided to take a break Sunday evening and went out for a couple of hours, however I still found myself writing code in my head for part of the flash website...... so no chance to escape.............ROLL ON MAY!!

Presentation Result

I received 80% for my presentation and again I am quite happy with this as anything over 70 is an achievement...

Research Report Result

I received 76% for my research report, Its tough to get anything over 70, but I still thought I could have done better. My design concepts let me down, which is where I expected to score high.

Basic idea of how the home page will appear

Deciding upon a logo

I decided to use the logo on the right, the canvas surrounding the "ART STUDIO" is met to represent the letters "G" and "K" - the artists initials

Colour Scheme

I am looking at having light greys and whites in the background, in order to allow the artists work to stand out, however I needed a colour to use in the logo and which will contrast the greys and white, and which could also be used for roll overs................................I found the answer eating a bowl of SOUP!!!!

Design Presentation

I had my design presentation today, I felt it went fairly well. Could have done with some more time however. I decided to compile a video instead of using power-point and I feel this helped the audience grasp a greater understanding as to the concept of my project.
